Hay Scene Print
Originally painted by Bria Hammock on an oak barrel head from Pine Bluffs Distilling, Hay Scene takes a familiar Western moment and strips it down into color, shape and just enough detail to let your brain fill in the rest. Three figures stand together in the field, surrounded by hay, tools and a whole lot of blue sky.
Cool aquas and deep blues run through the piece, broken up by flashes of orange and that oversized red-orange hat at the center. There’s clearly a story happening here, but you’re catching it somewhere in the middle. Maybe they’re working. Maybe they’ve stopped to talk. Maybe somebody just said something worth putting the pitchfork down for.
