It's called BoatNit.

We are definitely a tradition-loving family.  Nothing crazy and not so hard-and-fast that we can't veer from them from time to time... the movie theater on Christmas, pumpkin patching in October, etc.

We have, in the last few years, stumbled on a pretty unique one though... it's called BoatNit. Every Hammock family camping trip consists of a family boat making competition and subsequent race, utilizing natural supplies found in the area around us.

One trip our daughter likened it to the Netflix baking competition, Nailed It, and somehow the moniker ended up as BoatNit.  Close, right?! Maybe.

The winner of BoatNit usually grabs some sort of advantage in our later-that-evening game night and the littles get pretttyyy excited when they nab the honor. Totally sounds silly, but I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of being outside as an adult... my inner kiddo hides sometimes, but BoatNit is sure to yank her out of hiding!

I'd love to hear about some of your fav camping traditions! Pop 'em down in the comments.
