Painted by Bria on an oak barrel head from Pine Bluffs Distilling, Poet’s Gathering, 1985 is inspired by Charles A. Kortes’ cowboy poem of the same name. A tiny vintage pickup tears across a creamy, dusky sky, kicking up dust like it’s late, lost, or maybe exactly where it means to be.
There’s humor in the scale of it, but also that familiar Western feeling of motion against a whole lot of space. It leaves you wondering where the truck is headed, who’s inside, and what story is waiting at the end of that dusty trail.
