Painted by Bria on an oak barrel head from Pine Bluffs Distilling, How Many Cows? is inspired by Nyle A. Henderson’s cowboy poem of the same name and the classic Western question that sounds simple until you start counting.

A stack of cattle rises tall and a little ridiculous, balanced somewhere between ranch math, tall tale, and “are you sure about that?” Like the poem that inspired it, the piece leans into the humor of cowboy life while leaving just enough room for the viewer to wonder what exactly is happening here.

This original was selected as one of the featured artworks for Pine Bluffs Distilling’s limited bottle release, carrying the piece from barrel head to bottle label.
