Don't Fence Me In Print
Originally painted by Bria Hammock on an oak barrel head from Pine Bluffs Distilling, **Don’t Fence Me In** takes a familiar Western image and turns it into something a little more restless. A cowboy and horse rise out of a deep navy background, built from loose blocks of blue, orange, cream and green, with that bright orange sun sitting just behind them.
There’s a lot of movement in this one, but not much explanation, which feels right for the title. Are they headed somewhere, leaving something behind, or just refusing to stay put? The original texture, seams and grain of the oak barrel are visible in the print, too, and are intentionally left as part of the piece’s character rather than something to hide.
