Cowboy's Favorite // Bria Hammock Original

Cowboy's Favorite // Bria Hammock Original

Painted by Bria on an oak barrel head from Pine Bluffs Distilling, Cowboy’s Favorite is inspired by Barney Nelson’s cowboy poem of the same name. A solitary figure stands in an open field, looking out at a storm cloud that feels almost too big to belong to one sky.

There’s a quietness to it, but not an empty one. The figure could be waiting, watching, remembering, or bracing for whatever comes next. With the storm cloud taking up so much of the story, it’s hard to know exactly what’s unfolding out there, and that’s part of the point. Like the poem, the piece leaves room for the viewer to decide what the moment means, and what the cowboy is standing in the middle of.

This original was selected as one of the featured artworks for Pine Bluffs Distilling’s limited bottle release, carrying the piece from barrel head to bottle label.
