The Big High and Lonesome // Bria Hammock Original
Painted by Bria on an oak barrel head from Pine Bluffs Distilling, The Big High and Lonesome is inspired by Baxter Black’s poem of the same name and the particular kind of loneliness that only a wide-open Western sky can properly hold. A bull stands in an empty ring beneath a storm-stacked horizon, caught somewhere between grit and stillness, humor and ache. Like the cowboy poetry that inspired it, the piece leaves room for both the tall tale and the truth underneath it.
