Annie Oakley, born Phoebe Anne Mosey, honed her sharpshooting and hunting skills as a child to feed her impoverished family. She won a shooting contest which found her then touring with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, subsequently becoming internationally known as the premier female sharpshooter.
